EQUIPMENT PLANNING · INFORMATIONAL TOOL
How long until the machine pays for itself?
Put two machines side by side, enter how you work today, and get an estimated payback period in months — built from the capacity and power figures published on our product pages.
This is an informational planning tool only. It produces estimates from the numbers you enter, not financial advice, a quote, or any promise of savings.
WHAT IT TELLS YOU
Four estimates per machine.
A quote tells you what a machine costs. It says nothing about whether it earns that back, or how fast — and that is usually the part you have to think through with a partner, an accountant or a lender. Every figure below is arithmetic on the numbers you enter, and changes when you change them.
Estimated payback
Total investment divided by the net monthly benefit your own figures produce.
Monthly benefit
Labor saved, waste avoided and margin on volume you cannot take on today, minus what it costs to run.
Long-run position
Where the machine stands at the end of the horizon — often a different answer from the fastest payback.
Cash flow
Enter a monthly financing payment and see whether the estimate covers that installment from month one.
STEP BY STEP
How to use it.
Four steps, about five minutes. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere — it runs entirely in your browser. Before you start, have these at hand: your monthly volume in kilos, the hours your team spends tempering or melting, your hourly labor cost, what you pay per kilo for couverture, roughly how much you lose to seizing and rework, your electricity rate per kWh, and your written quote if you already have one.
Describe how you work today
Volume, hours, labor cost, chocolate cost, waste rate and electricity. Example values are filled in — replace them with yours, since everything downstream depends on these six figures.
Pick your two machines
Choose from the catalog and the price, capacity, rated output and power draw load automatically. If your quote shows a different price, type it over.
Check the hours it needs
Where a rated output is published, the hours are calculated for you: at 90 kg/h, 400 kg takes about 4.4 hours a month against 40 by hand. Add your own loading and cleaning time.
Read it, then print it
The verdict shows which machine breaks even sooner and which is further ahead long-run. Add your business name and print the summary to PDF for your accountant or lender.
STEP 01
Your operation today.
These figures describe how you work right now, before the new machine. Replace the example values with your own — they are placeholders, not benchmarks, and every result on this page depends entirely on what you enter here.
STEP 02
The two machines.
Choose a machine and its catalog price, capacity and power draw fill in automatically. Every field stays editable. Catalog prices and specifications can change without notice — if you have a written quote, use the price on that quote instead.
STEP 03
Your estimated results.
These results are estimates calculated from the figures you entered. They are not a forecast, a quote, or a promise of savings, and they exclude financing interest, taxes, depreciation, insurance, maintenance and consumables.
Printing opens your browser's print dialog — choose Save as PDF as the destination to keep a copy. The summary carries your figures, both machines, the comparison and the full disclaimer on a single page. Nothing you type is saved or sent to us.
Important — please read. This calculator is provided by Canada Cacao Company Inc. (operating as Zucchero Canada) for general information and planning purposes only. It is not financial, accounting, tax, legal or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your business.
All results are automatically generated from figures entered by you. We do not verify, review or endorse those figures, and we make no representation, warranty or guarantee — express or implied — as to the accuracy, completeness or achievability of any result. No savings, output, revenue, cost reduction, payback period or return on investment is promised, projected or guaranteed. Your actual results will differ, and may differ substantially, depending on your recipes, staffing, utilization, energy costs, maintenance, local conditions and factors outside anyone's control.
The calculator does not account for financing interest or fees, taxes, duties, depreciation, insurance, maintenance, spare parts, consumables, training, downtime or the cost of electrical work and installation unless you enter those amounts yourself. Machine specifications, capacities, power figures and catalog prices are drawn from manufacturer information published on our product pages and may change without notice; where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, the calculator says so rather than estimating one. Nothing on this page constitutes an offer, a quotation or a binding price. Only a written quotation issued by Zucchero Canada, and our Sales Terms and Conditions, govern any purchase.
Equipment financing, where mentioned, is offered by an independent third-party provider and is subject to that provider's credit approval, rates and terms. We do not extend credit and are not a party to any financing agreement. Machines are CE marked; a CSA SPE-1000 field inspection, where required, is paid by the buyer and not included in any price shown; we can coordinate it on request.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Canada Cacao Company Inc., its directors, officers and employees accept no liability for any loss or damage — including lost profits, lost revenue or business interruption — arising from reliance on this calculator or on any figure it produces. By using it you accept that any purchasing decision is yours alone. Please review the numbers with your accountant or financial advisor before committing to a purchase.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not saved, transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked questions.
Is this a promise of savings?
No. Every result is arithmetic on the figures you type in — change an input and the answer changes. It is a way to structure the decision, not a forecast, and it does not account for financing interest, taxes, depreciation or maintenance.
The machine I was quoted is not in the list.
Choose ‘Another machine’ and fill in the price, hours and power yourself. Line options and accessories are left out because they rarely stand on their own — ask us and we will send the figures for the exact configuration you were quoted.
Why does the cheaper machine sometimes look worse?
Because payback and long-run return are different questions. A smaller machine breaks even sooner simply by costing less, while a larger one keeps earning after both are paid off. The summary shows the position at the end of the horizon precisely so you can see when that trade-off flips.
Does it include shipping, installation or electrical work?
Only what you enter. Put freight, installation, accessories and any electrical work into the second field so the estimate reflects the real landed cost. Machines are CE marked; a CSA SPE-1000 field inspection, where you choose to arrange one, is a separate cost to add here as well.
Can we finance the machine?
Equipment financing is available through our partner EconoLease, subject to their approval and terms. Once you have a monthly payment figure, enter it and the summary will show whether the estimate covers that installment from the first month.
Is anything I type saved or sent to you?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or stored. If you want us to look at your numbers, print the summary and email it to us.
NEXT STEP
Want the numbers checked against a real quote?
Send us your printed summary and the machine you are considering. We will confirm the current price, lead time, electrical requirements and what installation actually involves.
